The contest jury has highly appreciated the idea of ​​creating open comfort zones designed by students in schools, which has been implemented by ZENIT Bank with the support of TATNEFT in Almetyevsk.

The School UPGRADE is the first example of participatory design effort in the educational environment of Tatarstan. The initiative has received a lively response from the local population, as well as the gratitude from the city administration. As of today, there are 3,760 students and 230 teachers at three educational institutions, who are already using the new comfort zones.

The project has been designed to involve teenagers in creating a flexible educational environment contributing to self-realization and the development of new knowledge. The students had shown in the course of the work, the that they were ready to develop relevant skills: create an idea and test it, find tools and resources, plan stages and work in a team. The efforts of children have allowed changing the outer appearance of three schools, in which functional spaces have been arranged and equipped with mobile furniture; an area for performances with an amphitheater and a podium, additional lighting, an acoustic center and a projector have been allocated.

The annual program Best Social Projects in Russia has been created as part of the Russian government s course to strengthen social policy based on partnership between the state, society and private business. The event has been held since 2012 and is aimed at supporting public initiatives and creating conditions for sustainable development. The organizer of the event is the Social Projects Foundation.
